I thought I'd share some words on this whole thing that went down this summer. First off, it was difficult. Very difficult. But I'm not thinking about that right now, which I knew I wouldn't be and that's why I pushed myself so hard. And everyone did too, I think. And, of course, we did have a good time. It's a movie after all. And a comedy at that. I think we can do better however. I think we all do. What we lacked this summer was storyboard and really paying attention to continuity. As in, my right hand was holding Turner's Tea in the last shot so...
The Premiere(s)I think the premiere went really well. There was also a small one in Minnesota. People laughed and said they liked it. Even Moses and Francisco, whose first language is not English. Which surprised me.
The difficulty of these moviesEquipment. I was talking to my friend Christa about how hard it is to make something remotely serious because of the type of cameras we use (hers isn't so hi-tech either) and she brought up a good point. It's hard for the audience (our friends) to suspend their disbelief when the camera isn't so hot. I agree. So I do not plan to do a movie that is too serious until we have better equipment. Ideally, I'd like to do one with more believable characters and touch on topics closer to my heart.

Short stuff. Trailers for movies that will never happen. A lot of improv.
I just can't believe we pulled it off. Gives me immense hope for the next one. Which will be better. Watch out!
